    Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association (GRIPA), part of Rochester Regional Health

    Dr. Joseph Vasile is the President and CEO of the Greater Rochester Independent Practice Association, or GRIPA. In this position, Dr. Vasile oversees the unique collaboration between the 1300+ physician members and their affiliate hospitals that are part of the Rochester General Health System. He has served on a number of hospital committees dedicated to quality, education, and organizational planning in the past, and remains a practicing physician Board Certified in Psychiatry with a subspecialty in Geriatric Psychiatry.

    Dr. Vasile completed his undergraduate studies at Yale University, and received his Doctorate of Medicine degree from the State University of New York at Buffalo and a Masters Degree in Business Administration from the University of Pittsburgh.

    Matt Hussmann

    Director, Population & Practice Management Analytics

    Henry Ford Health System

    Matt Hussmann is the Director of Population and Practice Management Analytics for the Henry Ford Health System. In his role, Matt works to compile, review and streamline data and validate information sent by physicians. With over eight years of professional experience in healthcare informatics, his goal is to ensure more clear and accurate data to physicians so they can better understand and improve their performance.

    Matt holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Eastern Michigan University, and is currently pursuing a master's degree in public administration from the University of Michigan-Dearborn.

    Mark Shields, MD, MBA

    Retired Senior Medical Director, Advocate Physician Partners, and Vice President of Medical Management, Advocate Health Care

    Senior Adviser, Navigant

    Dr. Mark Shields recently retired from Advocate Health Care as Senior Medical Director and Vice President in 2014. In this role, Dr. Shields oversaw all clinical functions related to 4100 physicians aligned with the twelve Advocate hospitals. He now currently serves as a Senior Adviser at Navigant, where he uses his 25 years of experience in management roles to advise major health systems and medical groups on clinical integration, physician strategies, and population health.

    Dr. Shields is a Fellow of the American College of Physicians and the Institute of Medicine of Chicago, as well as a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Medical School and the University of Chicago Business School.

    Dennis Butts, Jr., MBA

    Director

    Navigant

    Dennis Butts is a Director with the Strategic Solutions team at Navigant, and has 15 years of healthcare industry experience. He's led numerous healthcare strategic planning engagements, and is a nationally recognized expert in the design, development, and implementation of clinical integration networks (CINs) for single hospitals, health systems, and academic medical centers. In his role at Navigant, Dennis assists healthcare senior leadership teams in the development of strategic plans and service line initiatives to enable health systems to appropriately respond to shifting market, competitor and regulatory demands.

    Dennis has an MBA in Strategic Management from the Weatherhead School of Management and Case Western Reserve University, as well as a bachelor's degree in International Business from the University of Akron.
