Paulina Tam has been named COO of St. Petersburg (Fla.) General Hospital, an HCA facility. She succeeds Stephanie McNulty, who left to serve as COO of Largo (Fla.) Medical Center, also an HCA facility.
Tam, 36, was previously VP of operations at HCA's Tampa (Fla.) Community Hospital and director of performance improvement for surgical services at HCA West Florida Division. She has also been the senior management engineer for HCA's South Atlantic Division.
Rachel Miles has been named chief nursing officer at HCA's Medical Center of Aurora (Colo.), effective Jan. 30. She replaces Erica Rossitto, who was promoted to CNO of HCA's HealthONE Continental Division in Denver, which includes eight hospitals and six stand-alone emergency departments.
Miles, 37, has been CNO since February 2014 of Northeast Methodist Hospital, an HCA facility in San Antonio. Previously she was VP of nursing for Methodist Health System in Dallas.
Allen Carroll, longtime CEO of Bon Secours St. Francis Hospital in Charleston, S.C., will retire in May.
Allen, 59, has led Bon Secours St. Francis for 22 years. The facility is one of Roper St. Francis' three hospitals. He joined Bon Secours St. Francis in 1990 as COO and was promoted to CEO in 1995. Allen was named VP of operations for Roper St. Francis after its merger was complete in 1998.
In 2015, Carroll assumed additional leadership responsibilities at the system, leading the planning of a new Roper St. Francis hospital in Berkeley County, S.C.
