Glen Chambers, chief of staff for Republican Sen. Roy Blunt of Missouri, has been named Aetna's vice president and head of federal affairs, an Aetna spokesman confirmed Monday.
Chambers has served as Blunt's chief of staff since 2011. Before that, he held chief of staff and legislative director roles for former Sen. Sam Brownback (R-Kan.) until he left the Senate to become governor of Kansas.
“Chambers brings a wealth of knowledge and well-respected leadership to the Aetna Federal Affairs team,” the insurer said in an announcement.
The head of federal affairs role was previously filled by Peter Rubin.
