Dr. Richard Liebowitz has been promoted to president of New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, effective Feb. 6. He replaces Mark Mundy, who announced his retirement in 2016. Liebowitz, 61, currently serves as chief medical officer for the tertiary-care hospital. He joined New York-Presbyterian in 2006 and has served as VP of medical affairs and associate chief medical officer.
Mitch Wasden has been named CEO of OHSU Healthcare in Portland, Ore., effective March 1. He replaces interim CEO Timothy Goldfarb.
Wasden, 47, is currently CEO of University of Missouri Health Care in Columbia. He oversees four specialty hospitals and 50 outpatient clinics. He joined MU Health Care as COO in June 2012 and was named CEO in January 2013. Before joining MU Health Care, Wasden was CEO of Ochsner Medical Center in Baton Rouge, La. He previously served as VP of clinical services at Ochsner Health System, New Orleans.
Dr. Brian Whited has been promoted to CEO of Mayo Clinic Health System facilities in three Minnesota cities: Cannon Falls, Lake City and Red Wing. He replaces Dr. Tom Witt.
Whited, 56, most recently served as vice chairman of operations at Mayo Clinic. Previously, he served from 2007 to 2010 as Mayo's regional chief medical officer of southwest Minnesota and CEO of the Mayo Clinic Health System-Owatonna Clinic from 1995 to 2015.
