Amy Wilson has been named chief nursing officer of St. Thomas Health, an Ascension system based in Nashville, effective Jan. 3.
Wilson was most recently CNO and COO at Sacred Heart Hospital in Pensacola, Fla., also an Ascension facility. Before joining Sacred Heart, she held leadership roles at the Children's Hospital of Alabama in Birmingham, including director of the stem cell transplant unit, director of the neonatal intensive-care unit and director of performance improvement and accreditation.
Gary Malaer has been named CEO of Carolinas Hospital System, based in Florence, S.C., effective Jan. 1. He replaces Darcy Craven, who departed to serve as president of Millard Fillmore Suburban and DeGraff Memorial hospitals in Williamsville, N.Y. Malaer has been CEO of Wuesthoff Medical Center-Rockledge (Fla.) since October 2015. He joined Wuesthoff in April 2015 as COO.
Greg Pearson has been named CEO of Minden (La.) Medical Center, effective Dec. 5. He replaces Steve Selzer, who served in an interim role since long-time CEO George French retired earlier this year.
Pearson, 41, previously was CEO of Merit Health River Region in Vicksburg, Miss. He previously held a number of executive roles, including COO of Merit Health, CFO of St. Joseph Medical Center in Houston, CFO of Riverview Regional Medical Center in Gadsden, Ala., and CFO of Heartland Regional Medical Center in Marion, Ill.
