The Utah Health Information Network, a Salt Lake City-based clinical health information exchange organization and claims clearinghouse services provider, has named Andrew Burchett CIO and Candace Czerny COO.
Burchett returns to Utah health information exchange as CIO

Burchett
Burchett most recently served as an infrastructure and security architect in the financial services industry, but earlier worked as director of infrastructure and security at the Utah Health Information Network, a 23-year-old not-for-profit group of providers, payers, state government and other healthcare organizations.
Czerny previously served as the director of business development for the UHIN.
“Both these individuals bring the professionalism, insight and innovation to help UHIN continue to grow,” said Teresa Rivera, UHIN CEO, in a news release. “As data becomes increasingly important in care coordination and patient safety, it is important for UHIN to have a team with the right experience, dedication and vision. Candace and Andrew offer exactly what we need.”

Czerny
UHIN most recently has taken on the task of addressing mistaken patient identity. Salt Lake City-based Intermountain Healthcare last year announced results of a patient-matching improvement project with the network, which includes University of Utah Health Care.
It included not only the first and last names, sex and dates of birth, but also Social Security numbers, home phone numbers, race and home addresses. The project standardized how those attributes are recorded, which improved the rate of automatic matching across the exchange to 95% from 10%.
