Chris Mowan has been named president and CEO of HCA's Medical City Dallas Hospital, effective July 25.
He replaces Troy Villarreal, who was promoted to president of HCA's Gulf Coast Division.
Mowan most recently served as CEO of MountainView Hospital, an HCA hospital in Las Vegas. During his three years at MountainView, he oversaw a $90 million facility expansion and launched graduate medical education programs, according to a news release.
Mowan has held various executive leadership positions at HCA hospitals for 20 years. He was COO at Del Sol Medical Center in El Paso, Texas, and at Sunrise Hospital & Medical Center in Las Vegas.
The 534-bed Medical City Dallas has 1,200 physicians on staff and admitted 25,139 patients in 2015.
HCA North Texas is one of HCA's fastest-growing regions. It operates 16 hospitals and 79 patient-care sites.
Nashville-based HCA reported $39.7 billion in revenue last year. The for-profit system operates 165 hospitals.
