Regency Hospital in Fort Worth, Texas, a subsidiary of Select Medical, will close Aug. 11, according to a filing with the Texas Workforce Commission.
In a letter to the state agency, Select Medical Executive VP and Chief Human Resources Officer John Saich wrote 152 employees will be laid off as a result.
No reason for the closure was given but Saich wrote it would be completed “with the least possible disruption to the lives of our employees and the community.”
Select Medical and Regency Hospital did not respond to requests for comment.
Regency Hospital is one of nine long-term acute-care hospitals in Texas that Select Medical operates.
The Mechanicsburg, Pa.-based company has facilities in 40 states and reported $3.6 billion in operating revenue in 2015.
