Guthrie Healthcare System, a four-hospital system based in Sayre, Pa., has appointed Kate Mohr as its chief nursing officer.
Mohr joins Guthrie from the Children's Hospital at Providence/Women's Services for Providence Health & Services in Alaska, the company announced Monday.
“Nursing is an integral part of the care we provide, and having a single point of leadership for nursing strategy and development will be critical for our success as Guthrie continues to grow and enhance its patient experience,” said Guthrie COO Paul VerValin.
Mohr received her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the College of New Rochelle (N.Y.) and a Master of Science in Nursing from Duke University School of Nursing. She also has a doctorate in nursing practice and is certified in advanced nursing administration from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.
Not-for-profit Guthrie serves patients from 11 counties in north central Pennsylvania and upstate New York. The system had revenue of $676 million in 2015, according to data compiled by Modern Healthcare.
In addition to the four hospitals, Guthrie has a research institute, home care and hospice operations and a multi-specialty group practice of 290 physicians. It also is a member of the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
