Beacon Health System in South Bend, Ind., has joined the Mayo Clinic Care Network.
Beacon is the first Indiana-based health system to join the network.
Under terms of the agreement, the two-hospital health system will remain independent but can use Mayo services.
Beacon can also participate in Mayo's cancer board conferences to discuss management of complex cancer cases. The North Central Indiana health system provides pediatric and gynecologic oncology care.
The Rochester, Minn.-based health system has partnered with more than 35 providers across the U.S. since 2011. Other systems in the Mayo Clinic Care Network are Dartmouth-Hitchcock in Lebanon, N.H., ThedaCare in Appleton, Wis., and WellStar Health System in Marietta, Ga.
