Modern Healthcare is seeking entries for its ninth annual Best Places to Work in Healthcare awards. The recognition program identifies and recognizes the top workplaces in healthcare, those that go above and beyond to support their staff, empowering them to provide patients and other customers with the best possible care, products and services. The deadline for entries has now been extended until April 22.
On behalf of Modern Healthcare, the Best Companies Group, a Harrisburg, Pa.-based firm that administers a variety of “best places to work” programs around the country, will conduct two surveys of healthcare companies that volunteer to participate. The first is a questionnaire for a participating employer; the second is a satisfaction survey of a company’s employees.
The program is open to all healthcare organizations and companies in all sectors of the industry with a minimum of 25 full-time employees.
Participation is free for companies and organizations that complete the process electronically. Healthcare organizations and companies that participate in the program will receive a free summary report. Participants also will be able to buy a full assessment feedback report from the Best Companies Group.
In mid-July, Modern Healthcare will announce the names, in alphabetical order, of the 100 Best Places to Work in Healthcare. A special supplement, including the overall ranking of the 100 Best Places to Work, will be published in the Oct. 24 issue of Modern Healthcare. Once again, companies will be ranked on two lists, one for providers/payers, and the other for suppliers.
New this year, two employers (one for providers/payers and one for suppliers) will be presented with the Healthiest Award, recognizing organizations that best foster health and wellness through their benefit plans, including early access to health insurance for new hires, availability of fitness facilities and wellness programs, and a company culture that promotes work/life balance. Two employers also will be presented the Millennial Award, recognizing organizations that have the most-engaged and most-satisfied group of millennials on staff, based on the percentage of millennials in the company’s workforce and the number of employee satisfaction surveys completed by millennials.
