Dallas-based Tenet Healthcare Corp. has hired Howard Hacker as senior VP and chief compliance officer, effective May 2.
In his new post, Hacker will oversee Tenet's ethics and compliance program, which encompasses the company's 79 acute-care hospitals as well as the hospitals' outpatient facilities, 700 physician practices, United Surgical Partners International, Conifer Health Solutions and other services, according to a news release.
Hacker worked for Pfizer for more than 10 years in numerous leadership roles on the company's compliance and legal teams. In his most recent position, Hacker was chief compliance counsel for the company's global established pharma business.
“For healthcare organizations to succeed in the long term, they must operate from a strong foundation of values supported by an effective compliance program," Tenet CEO Trevor Fetter said in the release. "I am delighted to work with Howard and all of our leaders to uphold the highest standards of integrity in our service to our patients and our communities.”
In March, Tenet named Eric Evans president of hospital operations. Evans joined Tenet in 2004 and most recently served as the CEO of the company's Texas region.
