To select the 12th annual ranking of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders, Modern Healthcare accepted nominations from Nov. 9 to Dec. 11, 2015 through ModernHealthcare.com. The online nomination process asked for reader input on specific criteria for judging nominees, including executive responsibility, leadership qualities, professional achievement inside and outside of their respective organizations, innovation and community service.
This year's ballot once again comprised 150 names based on the total nominations submitted. From Jan. 11 to Feb. 19, readers could vote for the one candidate they believed should be included in the final roster of the 50 Most Influential Physician Executives and Leaders. More than 27,000 votes were submitted for this year's program.
As in previous years, readers' votes counted for 50% of the outcome to determine the final ranking. The other 50% was based on the opinions of Modern Healthcare's senior editors.
