David McQuaid has been named CEO of Ohio State University Health System and COO of Wexner Medical Center in Columbus. He will succeed Peter Geier, who was COO for almost 15 years.
McQuaid, 61, will begin the roles on Feb. 1 upon approval of the OSU board of trustees. His duties will include overseeing the six-hospital system, as well as the Ohio State Primary Care and Ambulatory Networks. At Wexner, his responsibilities include clinical operations and business development.
He previously served for nearly eight years as executive VP for clinical affairs, president and CEO of Thomas Jefferson University Hospitals in Philadelphia.
