ViewRay, the Oakwood Village, Ohio-based maker of MRI-guided radiation therapy machines, has added a veteran medical technology executive to its board of directors.
The company said the new board member, Brian K. Roberts, also will serve as chair of the board's audit committee.
Chris A. Raanes, president and CEO of ViewRay, said in a statement that Roberts' “expertise in medical technology and his extensive experience as a CFO in both public and private companies make him a valuable addition to our board."
Roberts is chief operating officer and chief financial officer of Avedro, a Waltham, Mass.-based medical device and pharmaceutical company working in the area of corneal cross-linking. Avedro recently completed a $32 million equity financing.
Prior to Avedro, Roberts served as CFO for Insulet Corp. During his time at Insulet, the tubeless insulin pump technology company “grew from approximately $30 million to nearly $300 million in revenue, achieved operating profitability, and increased its market capitalization to over $2 billion,” according to a ViewRay news release.
