Mark Robitaille has announced that he will retire as CEO of Stuart, Fla.-based Martin Health System within the next year.
Robitaille, 64, will be succeeded by Rob Lord, the system's senior VP and COO. An ad hoc committee of Martin Health board members and medical staff leaders evaluated candidates for the position, with help from an executive search firm.
Lord, 57, joined the system in 1998 as VP and chief legal officer and has served as senior VP and COO since 2014. He played a part in the development of Tradition Medical Center in Port St. Lucie, Fla., where he was later named senior VP of system facilities management and campus leader for the medical center.
Phil Trent has been named VP of business development for Community Hospital Corp.'s group purchasing organization.
CHC is a Plano, Texas-based not-for-profit that owns and manages hospitals and provides consulting services.
Trent, 51, began his new role at the organization's GPO, CHC Supply Trust, in November.
Contracts for the community-hospital-focused GPO, which is a part of CHC's for-profit consulting arm, are managed through HealthTrust, a Brentwood, Tenn.-based GPO owned by HCA. CHC Supply Trust was launched in September.
Trent previously served as director of market development in San Antonio for Vitas Healthcare, a Miami-based national provider of end-of-life care.
