Carondelet Health Network, which earlier this year switched from a nonprofit to for-profit company, has laid off 3% of its workforce.
Spokeswoman Kate Maguire Jensen says that amounts to about 100 people laid off from the Southern Arizona Catholic hospital chain.
The Carondelet Health Network does business in Tucson as Carondelet St. Mary's Hospital and Carondelet St. Joseph's Hospital. The network also operates Carondelet Holy Cross in Nogales.
Jensen says the staffing changes were to align the network's cost structure with industry standards. She says the company is working to help affected employees apply for new positions within the system and connecting them to other potential employers.
