Dr. Daniel Simon has been named president of University Hospitals Case Medical Center in Cleveland, effective Jan. 1.
Simon, 54, replaces Dr. Fred Rothstein, who announced his retirement in August after leading University Hospitals' flagship facility for 12 years.
Simon is currently president of UH Harrington Heart and Vascular Institute, a University Hospitals facility also in Cleveland. He's a practicing cardiologist.
Simon has been with University Hospitals since 2006.
University Hospitals is a 17-hospital health system with $3.1 billion in revenue last year.
