The Federation of American Hospitals, the lobbying group for for-profit hospitals and health systems, has appointed two new vice presidents of legislation.
Katie Wise, 30, will join on Nov. 9. The Washington-based organization has over 1,000 members.
Wise previously served as legislative director for Rep. Vern Buchanan (R-Fla.) while also serving as associate staff on the House Way and Means Committee. Before that, she was legislative director for Rep. Mike Fitzpatrick (R-Pa.) and served in various roles for Rep. Mary Fallin (R-Okla.).
Srinu Sonti, 40, joined the FAH in October, after working in policy and politics for over a decade.
Sonti most recently served as health policy adviser to Sen. Richard Durbin (D-Ill.), where he worked on healthcare finance. Before working in the Senate, he worked at the Center for American Progress, the Senate Democratic Policy and Community Center. Sonti also worked for Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid (D-Nev.).
