Dr. Reid Blackwelder's trademark bushy beard gives the past president of the American Academy of Family Physicians a unique look. The watercolor painting by Denver artist William Matthews is part of a series called “Colorado Pioneers” on display at the center portraying archetypal Colorado historical pioneer figures. A friend tweeted this photo of Blackwelder and his twin.
