Juan Quintana is the new president of the American Association of Nurse Anesthetists.
Quintana, 52, has been a certified registered nurse anesthetist for 15 years, most recently in Winnsboro, Texas. He began his new role this month and will serve a one-year term, replacing Sharon Pearce.
He owns Sleepy Anesthesia Associates in Winnsboro, a certified registered nurse anesthetist practice that provides anesthesia services for rural hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers.
Rubin
Stanford Health Care CEO Amir Dan Rubin will leave the Bay Area academic health system to join insurance and health services giant UnitedHealth Group and its Optum division as executive VP.
Rubin, 46, will leave Stanford at year-end to join the Minnetonka, Minn.-based company.
Rubin became president and CEO of Stanford Health Care in January 2011. Under his leadership, the system acquired ValleyCare Health System, expanding its reach into the East Bay area, while also opening a cancer center in San Jose and expanding its outpatient network. The system also broke ground on the new Stanford Hospital, set to open in 2018.
Dr. Balvindar Sareen is the new chief medical officer of Lincoln Medical Center, operated by the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp. in the Bronx.
Sareen, 59, started at the public hospital, which has a Level I trauma center, earlier this month. He succeeds Dr. Anita Soni, the hospital's chair of medicine, who served as interim medical director for a year.
Before coming to HHC, Sareen was VP and regional CMO at Presence Sts. Mary and Elizabeth Medical Center in Chicago. Previously, he was medical director for inpatient services at Janesville, Wis.-based Mercy Health System.

Willrich
Chris Willrich has been named CEO of Bay Health, a recently formed joint venture between UCSF Medical Center, San Francisco, and Walnut Creek, Calif.-based John Muir Health.
Willrich, 54, will begin his new role Oct. 1. The development company is a part of an affiliation between the two organizations announced in March.
Bay Health is focused on supporting a Bay Area-wide healthcare network, a separate joint venture between UCSF and John Muir Health. Willrich will lead the company's development of new tools to coordinate care through delivery integration and patient communication portals as well as establishing outpatient facilities and joint service lines between UCSF and John Muir Health.
Dr. Jennifer Schneider, former chief medical officer at healthcare pricing software developer Castlight Health, has taken a new position as CMO at Livongo Health, which provides cloud-based mobile glucose monitoring and other services for diabetics.
Schneider, 40, began her new role earlier this month. Livongo created the position to bring clinical expertise in-house and add value to product development. She also will oversee clinical analytics and research.
Before joining Livongo, Schneider held several leadership roles at Castlight involving clinical product development.
