Melissa Waddey has been promoted to senior VP of operations strategy and integration at Brentwood, Tenn.-based LifePoint Health.
In the newly created position, Waddey, 40, will oversee service line development, population health, enterprise project management and care integration across the for-profit company.
Most recently, Waddey was chief of staff to Bill Carpenter, the company's chairman and CEO. She also served as VP of the company's strategic resource group, where she led healthcare reform projects and worked to improve efficiency across service lines.
Before joining LifePoint in 2010, Waddey spent 11 years in a number of leadership positions at HCA.
Dr. Richard Slavin has announced that he will retire as CEO of the Palo Alto Medical Foundation and Camino Medical Group, both part of Sutter Health, based in Sacramento, Calif.
Slavin, 72, plans to retire on Jan. 4. His successor has not been named.
As a leading player in the merging of Camino and the PAMF in 2000, Slavin—a general, thoracic and vascular surgeon—helped create one of the largest multispecialty group practices in California. He served as president of the Camino Division of the PAMF until 2010, when he became CEO.
Erin Denholm has been named CEO of Trinity Home Health Services, part of Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health. She replaces Grace McCauley, who is retiring. McCauley has led the division since it was created in 2001.
Denholm will oversee Trinity's home health and hospice operations, which include nearly 120 continuing-care facilities and programs that total close to 2.8 million visits annually.
Previously, Denholm was CEO of home-care services and senior living communities at Centura Health, Denver.
