Patty Maysent has been named interim CEO of UC San Diego Health. She replaces Paul Viviano, who led the system for the past three years and is now the new president and CEO of Children's Hospital Los Angeles.
Maysent, 54, joined UC San Diego Health in 2012 as Viviano's chief of staff. In 2013, she became the system's chief strategy officer.
Before coming to UC San Diego, Maysent served in several executive roles, including CEO of St. Jude Medical Center in Fullerton, Calif., where she built the St. Jude Heritage Health Foundation, a physician/hospital integrated delivery system.
John Ferrelli has been named president and CEO of two-campus Seton Medical Center in California, part of the Daughters of Charity Health System.
Ferrelli, 58, will oversee operations of Seton Medical Center in Daly City and Seton Coastside in Moss Beach. He replaces Joanne Allen, who is retiring after a 19-year career with the Daughters of Charity. Ferrelli has more than 25 years of experience leading health systems, acute-care hospitals and ambulatory centers, primarily in California. Most recently, he served as chief administrative officer at USC Norris Cancer Hospital in Los Angeles.
