If a night of excess leaves you feeling depleted, there's a new service in New York City that could bring you back to life. The Hangover Club offers house calls to cure the nausea, dehydration and headache that all too often follow an evening of heavy drinking.
In as little as 45 minutes, the company will send a registered nurse to your home, office or hotel with IV drips containing electrolytes, vitamins and medication, if needed. The Club offers three in-home packages starting at $175, and books appointments by phone and online.
Asa Kitfield, managing partner of the year-old company, first tried IV hangover therapy when a nurse practitioner friend hooked up IVs for him and his buddies the morning after his bachelor party. “Within a couple hours, we felt like we hadn't drunk before,” Kitfield said.
Kitfield co-founded the company with internist Dr. Maurice Beer, also the company's medical director. They've now expanded into vitamin-infusion therapy through what is now the Hangover Club's parent company, NutriDrip. Revenue has doubled nearly every month since June, Kitfield said.
“I believe that we are part of a Health 2.0 shift and making different levels of quality of care” available, Kitfield said. “People will pay a premium to get a more convenient, higher level of service for healthcare.”
