Bharat Sundaram has been promoted to president of MedAssets' Spend and Clinical Resource Management segment, which includes its consulting business and group purchasing organization.
Sundaram, 38, has already begun his new role at the Alpharetta, Ga.-based GPO and healthcare services company. Before his promotion, Sundaram was general manager of supply-chain solutions for MedAssets.
A six-year veteran of MedAssets, Sundaram has also served as senior VP of enterprise operations and interim CIO. He joined the company in 2009 as a member of its corporate development team.
Before working at MedAssets, Sundaram was with the Boston Consulting Group.
In his new role, Sundaram will provide overall leadership and set strategic direction for operations, product development, implementation, client service, and sales and marketing.
After a tough start to the year, MedAssets recovered in its quarterly earnings released in July.
Total revenue for the second quarter of 2015 increased 8.6% to $190.4 million from $175.4 million for the same prior-year period. Total revenue growth was 1.8% on a year-over-year basis.
