Providence Health System, Mobile, Ala., names new president

Todd Kennedy has been named president of Providence Health System in Mobile, Ala.

Kennedy, 39, will start on Sept. 7. He replaces Clark Christianson, who is retiring.

The move is a promotion for Kennedy, who has served as executive VP and COO at Providence since February 2012, when he joined the system. Previously, he was president and COO of St. Vincent's East, part of St. Vincent's Health System in Birmingham, Ala.

Before joining St. Vincent's, Kennedy held leadership roles at Vaughan Regional Medical Center in Selma, Ala., and Brookwood Medical Center in Birmingham.

Providence is owned by St. Louis-based Ascension.

Mark Larmore will be the next CFO at Ohio State University's Wexner Medical Center in Columbus.

Larmore, 53, starts on Oct. 1. He joins the academic medical center from New York-Presbyterian Hospital, where he was senior VP, treasurer and CFO.

During his more than 25-year career at New York-Presbyterian, Larmore served in a variety of financial positions, including director of finance, VP of finance, senior VP of finance and assistant treasurer.

At OSU, Larmore will be responsible for Wexner's strategic financial planning for all OSU hospitals and clinics, its College of Medicine, faculty group practice and all other affiliated programs.

Hossam “Sam” Bayoumy has been named CEO of the Cleveland Clinic Rehabilitation Hospital, a new facility slated to open in December. Bayoumy, 43, will lead the acute inpatient rehab hospital, a joint venture between Select Medical and Cleveland Clinic.

He comes to the hospital from the Kessler Institute for Rehabilitation in New Jersey, where he was senior director of rehabilitation services. Bayoumy joined Kessler in 2004 as the clinical leader for its Brain Injury Program Leadership Team. He also oversaw accreditation of Kessler's brain injury, amputee, spinal cord, stroke and general rehabilitation programs in 2010 and 2013.

Cigna Corp. has named Greg Allen president of its Tennessee market.

Allen, 45, began working in the newly created position this month. He oversees the Bloomfield, Conn.-based insurer's products and services in the state, including employer-based group benefit plans, individual plans and Medicare plans.

Allen held several positions at Cigna-HealthSpring, a subsidiary offering Medicare Advantage and Part D plans. He joined HealthSpring when it was founded in 2000, and stayed on after Cigna acquired it in 2011.

Most recently, Allen led Cigna-HealthSpring's Alabama and Tennessee markets and earlier served as president of HealthSpring's Tennessee market, one of the company's largest Medicare Advantage markets.

Anthony Tardugno has been named senior VP and chief information and security officer for Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Louisiana.

Tardugno, 52, started with the Baton Rouge-based insurer this month.

Before working at the Blues plan, Tardugno was senior VP and CIO at Miami-based AvMed Health Plan. He has also held positions at Excellus Blue Cross and Blue Shield and Kodak, both based in Rochester, N.Y., and with Xerox, based in Norwalk, Conn.
