Lois Dehls Cornell, chief administrative officer and general counsel at Tufts Health Plan, has begun her role as president of the American Health Lawyers Association.
Cornell will be responsible for launching the AHLA's fiscal 2016-17 strategic plan, with her own goals including an improvement in the organization's technology capabilities and additional work on the the organization's diversity and inclusion efforts. At Tufts Health Plan in Watertown, Mass., Cornell is responsible for all legal matters, human resources, strategic initiatives and communications.
Before working at Tufts Health Plan, Cornell was an associate at Goodwin Proctor in Boston, where she practiced corporate and not-for-profit law. She sits on the board of directors for the University of Massachusetts Medical Center as well as the Massachusetts Association of Health Plans.
