Stephen Zieniewicz has been named president and CEO of St. Barnabas Medical Center in Livingston, N.J., part of West Orange, N.J.-based Barnabas Health.
Zieniewicz, currently executive director of the University of Washington Medical Center, will begin his new role on Sept. 8. He replaces Thomas Biga, who has served as interim president and CEO since December, when former hospital CEO Dr. John Bonamo was promoted to chief medical officer of the Barnabas system.
Before joining UWMC in 2007, Zieniewicz was COO at for-profit St. Louis University Hospital for three years.
Gary Conner has been named senior VP and CFO at Reading Health System, based in West Reading, Pa.
Conner, 60, replaces Rick Jones, who resigned in October.
Before joining Reading, Conner was executive VP and CFO at Southcoast Health System in New Bedford, Mass. He also served as CFO at Duarte, Calif.-based City of Hope cancer center, in addition to holding various senior-level positions at HCA and Catholic Healthcare West, now Dignity Health.
The University of Connecticut Health Center, Farmington, has promoted Ann Marie Capo to chief nursing officer and VP for quality and patient services.
Capo previously served as the organization's chief quality and patient-safety officer and associate VP of clinical effectiveness and patient safety.
Since starting as a neonatal intensive-care unit nurse at UConn, Capo has worked her way up through various supervisory roles.
