Community Regional Medical Center is on a streak.
Since June 11, doctors at the Fresno, Calif., hospital have delivered five sets of triplets.
One set of triplets was born the week of June 7, followed by a second set June 18, a third set three days later on Father's Day and the fourth set was born the week of June 29. The final set arrived July 12. All babies are said to be doing well, according to the hospital. The boys are outnumbered, with five boys to 10 girls.
The hospital is set up to handle multiple multiple births, so the NICU was able to handle the triplet explosion, hospital spokeswoman Mary Lisa Russell said.
One of the triplet moms, April Delgado, delivered her daughters at 33 weeks gestation. Jennie, Avery and Leah will join eight siblings.
Delgado, who conceived naturally, said she was shocked to find she was having triplets. “I cried when Jennie came out because I was scared she came so early. But look at them, they look like they're just sunbathing and posing for the cameras” in the NICU.
