Matthew Trunnell has been appointed as VP and CIO at Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center, a Seattle-based independent nonprofit research institute.
Trunnell has worked in life sciences IT for over 15 years, in both academic and commercial settings. He'll begin his new role at Fred Hutch on Aug. 31.
For the past nine years, Trunnell has worked at the Broad Institute at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and Harvard University, most recently serving as CIO. At Fred Hutchinson, he'll oversee the organization's efforts to use informatics and information analytics to further its research and precision medicine efforts.
