La Sharndra Barbarin has been named CEO of the Medical Center of Lewisville, an HCA facility in northern Texas.
Barbarin, 42, a long-time employee of Nashville-based HCA, was promoted to this new role after serving as COO of the Medical Center of Arlington (Texas) for four years. She'll start her new role at the 166-bed hospital in Lewisville on July 6.
Barbarin started with the for-profit hospital giant 18 years ago as an administrative fellow at Las Colinas Medical Center, Irving, Texas, and quickly worked her way up the corporate ladder. She served as COO at Medical Center of McKinney (Texas) for nine years before becoming COO of Medical Center of Arlington in 2011.
