LifePoint Health has appointed Alan Larson as south central Virginia market president and CEO of Danville (Va.) Regional Medical Center.
Larson, 53, will have regional oversight over Memorial Hospital of Martinsville (Va.) & Henry County in addition to the Danville facility, where he'll also oversee daily operations. He will start his new job Aug. 1, replacing interim Market President and CEO Jerry Dooley.
Before joining LifePoint, Larson founded TD HealthCare, a healthcare consulting and interim-leadership firm that he has led as CEO since 2006. Before that, he served as senior vice president of Mercy Health System, a Conshohocken, Pa.-based system owned by Trinity Health. He has also held leadership positions at Community Health Systems, NetCare Health Systems and HealthTrust.
