San Francisco-based Dignity Health has tapped Stephen Foerster to serve as chief strategy officer for its Bay Area service area.
Foerster, 47, will begin his new role on June 29, moving on from his most recent role as VP of managed care at Dignity. He replaces Bill Graham, who became president of Dignity Health Sequoia Hospital, Redwood City, Calif., in April.
As a leader in the Bay Area, Foerster will oversee strategy for Dignity's Dominican Hospital in Santa Cruz, Sequoia Hospital in Redwood City, and St. Mary's Medical Center and St. Francis Memorial Hospital in San Francisco.
Before working at Dignity, Foerester was senior director of contract services at Washington Hospital Healthcare System in Fremont, Calif., and worked as an administrator at Doctors Medical Center in Modesto and Doctors Hospital Manteca. He also served as executive director of Westshore Health Network in Muskegon, Mich., a joint venture between the Muskegon Area Physicians Association and Trinity Health.
