R. Craig McCoy has been named CEO at Bon Secours St. Francis Health System in Greenville, S.C., effective June 8.
McCoy, a Greenville native, comes to Bon Secours from Emory Healthcare, Atlanta, where he has served as CEO at Emory St. Joseph's Hospital, a Catholic joint venture with Trinity Health, Livonia, Mich. Previously, he was CEO at Paradise Valley Hospital, Phoenix, and VP of professional services at Oconee Medical Center, Seneca, S.C.
Dr. Daniel Napierkowski, an 18-year veteran of the Cleveland Clinic, has been named president of the system's Euclid (Ohio) Hospital.
Napierkowski, 58, an anesthesiologist, has worked at the Cleveland Clinic since 1997. He replaces Mark Froimson, who became chief clinical officer at Livonia, Mich.-based Trinity Health in December.
Most recently, Napierkowski was chairman of regional practice anesthesiology, overseeing anesthesiology operations across the clinic's regional hospitals and ambulatory surgery centers. He'll continue to practice medicine while serving as president of the hospital.
Dr. John Young has been named national medical director of cardiovascular services for LifePoint Health, previously known as LifePoint Hospitals.
Young, 51, will oversee quality, patient safety and clinical functions related to cardiovascular services throughout the for-profit hospital system.
Before joining LifePoint, Young was division chairman for cardiovascular medicine at Adena Health System, based in Chillicothe, Ohio. He also served as an adjunct professor of medicine at the Ohio State University Wexner Medical Center, Columbus, and adjunct professor of cardiology at Ohio University's Heritage College of Osteopathic Medicine in Athens.
Dr. Michael Murphy has been named chief medical officer at PeaceHealth, a Vancouver, Wash.-based Catholic system.
Murphy, 60, an obstetrician-gynecologist, will be PeaceHealth's first system-level CMO. He begins his new role June 15.
Before joining PeaceHealth, Murphy worked at Sharp Grossmont Hospital in San Diego, where he served as the hospital's first CMO.
Murphy, who also holds a law degree, previously worked as VP of medical affairs for Rogue Valley Medical Center in Medford, Ore., as well as for City Hospital in Martinsburg, W.Va. He has also worked in private practice in Salem, Ore., and Washington after serving in staff physician roles with the U.S. Navy and Planned Parenthood earlier in his career.
