The article “UnitedHealthcare pilot to control laboratory costs draws protest” (May 4, p. 15) should have said that UnitedHealthcare will pay any in-network lab for tests ordered by doctors who gave prior notice before ordering the test. In addition, UnitedHealthcare says it's not locking out labs that meet accreditation standards from payment for tests, contrary to claims by some lab industry critics.
