Hayley Hovious has been named president of the Nashville Healthcare Council, a group that represents the region's influential for-profit healthcare industry. She begins her role June 1.
Hovious, 37, replaces Caroline Young, who has served as president since 2008 and is leaving the organization to work on an undisclosed project with former Tennessee Sen. Bill Frist.
She joins the council from the Tennessee Department of Economic and Community Development, where she was trade director. The Nashville native also has served as brand manager at E.J. Gallo Winery in Modesto, Calif.
Scott Leitz has been named chief transformation officer at the Health Care Cost Institute.
Leitz, 49, has been CEO at MNsure, the Minnesota health insurance marketplace, for the past 15 months. At not-for-profit HCCI, Leitz will promote and expand initiatives that make pricing and quality outcomes more transparent. He'll also oversee Guroo, a website that provides national, state and local cost information about common health conditions and services.
Allison O'Toole, MNsure's deputy director for external affairs, has been named interim CEO. O'Toole will take over on May 22 and Leitz will join HCCI on June 8.
