Dr. Mark Steele, CMO at Truman Medical Centers, has also been appointed as the Kansas City, Mo.-based organization's COO.
Steele, 58, will serve in both positions, in addition to his responsibilities as associate dean of Truman programs for the University of Missouri at Kansas City's School of Medicine and executive medical director of University Physician Associates, which provides the school's multi-specialty faculty. The appointment was effective earlier this week.
Currently an emergency medicine professor, Steele has been with Truman since he began UMKC's six-year medical school program as an undergraduate in 1974. He finished his residency at Truman and UMKC in 1983 and went on to serve as the emergency medicine residency program director and chairman of the emergency department.
