IMS Health has acquired U.K.-based healthcare analytics company Dataline Software.
Dataline's technology will expand the capabilities of an IMS platform that allows providers to extract, analyze and visualize real-world data to understand and measure outcomes, IMS said in a news release.
“Through this acquisition, we will expand our application suite, deliver exciting new visualization capabilities and accelerate speed to insight,” Jon Resnick, vice president and general manager for Real-World Evidence Solutions at IMS Health, said in the release.
Dataline's patented algorithm for searching complex electronic health-record datasets will be incorporated into an enhanced search engine on IMS' Evidence 360 platform. The acquisition will also allow the Danbury, Conn.-based company to provide additional support to clients' clinical trial research and operations activities, the company said.
