EvergreenHealth Monroe (Wash.) Hospital has appointed Dr. Jack Handley as its new CMO.
Handley, 50, has been a physician in the 72-bed hospital's emergency department for the past 16 years. He started his new role last week.
Valley General Hospital was renamed EvergreenHealth Monroe when it became a part of the Kirkland, Wash.-based EvergreenHealth system at the end of 2014.
Handley had previously served as chairperson of the Medical Staff Quality Peer Review and Quality Steering Committees at the hospital. He's also a veteran, having served eight years on active duty while training in emergency medicine at Fitzsimmons, Madigan and Landstuhl Army Medical Centers.
