Children's Hospital Colorado in Aurora has appointed Jena Hausmann as its permanent CEO.
Hausmann, 44, has served as interim CEO since January, while also serving as president and COO. She'll shed the COO title and permanently take the helm on May 1.
The hospital's board of directors chose Hausmann after a national search run by Spencer Stuart, a Chicago-based executive search firm. The organization will now look for a new COO to take her place.
Hausmann joined the hospital in 2004 as VP of strategic planning and network of care operations. She was promoted to COO in 2008 and president in 2011.
Before working at Children's Hospital Colorado, Hausmann worked in senior management at the University of Minnesota Medical Center. She also served as an administrative fellow at Fairview Health System in Minneapolis.
Modern Healthcare recognized Hausmann as one of 12 “rising healthcare management stars” in 2008 in its Up & Comers recognition program.
