The Accreditation Association for Ambulatory Health Care has appointed a new CEO.
Stephen Martin Jr., 43, has been tapped to lead the Skokie, Ill.-based organization, which accredits over 6,000 ambulatory-care facilities. He'll replace retiring CEO John Burke on June 15.
Most recently, Martin was executive director of the Association for Community Health Improvement at the American Hospital Association. He also worked as chief program officer for the AHA's Health Research & Educational Trust.
Martin has also served as health commissioner and COO for the Cook County (Ill.) Department of Health, and as a senior executive with the Cook County Health and Hospitals System.
