Dr. John Morley has been appointed chief medical officer of Jacobi Medical Center and North Central Bronx Hospital, both part of the New York City Health and Hospitals Corp.
Morley, 60, will oversee medical staff and medical affairs for the two Bronx hospitals. He began his role in March.
The HHC is responsible for managing New York City's 11 public hospitals and five nursing facilities, in addition to other services.
Morley, an anesthesiologist by training, previously served as medical director of the state health department's Health Systems Management Division. He has also served as senior VP and deputy CMO at HHC.
