Clinical interoperability is a high priority for all healthcare organizations and providers in today's environment, but what does that really mean for providers? How does it impact decision-support processes, value-based payment models, and, most importantly, the patient care experience? In this video, Dr. Tom Deas, Jr., shares his insights and first-hand experience on the benefits received and value that can be realized -- for providers, patients and all those involved in the delivery of care -- with clinical data interoperability, timely exchange of patient health information and the effective use of analytics at the point of care.
Dr. Tom Deas, Jr., is the Director of Physician Development at North Texas Specialty Physicians (NTSP), and Chief Medical Officer for Sandlot Solutions, a leading community health interoperability and analytics provider.
NTSP is an independent physician association comprised of more than 600 primary care and specialty physicians with a core business of managing risk for more than 60,000 Medicare Advantage patients. Since 2010, NTSP has used the Sandlot Solutions platform to achieve greater interoperability through community-based health data exchange and analytics, improving coordination of care, reducing readmissions rates and increasing quality scores. Today, over three million comprehensive patient records are in the exchange.
