Ronnie LaBorde, the company's vice chairman, will return to his previous role as CFO. LaBorde stepped down as CFO last year to serve as interim CEO following Borne's departure, but relinquished that job with the appointment of Paul Kusserow.
Dan McCoy joined the company as COO on April 6. McCoy, 55, comes to Amedisys from insurance giant Anthem, where he had recently retired as senior VP of operations for the company's commercial and specialty division.
Martin Howard, 57, also began his new role as CIO on April 6. Howard most recently served as director of strategy and operations for Deloitte Consulting, and has held CIO roles at Erickson Retirement Communities and Ingenix, which is now known as Optum.
Larry Pernosky, 61, will join Amedisys as chief human resources officer on April 22, after serving as VP of Human Capital Consulting at Humana. The current human resources chief, Martha Williams, will become chief administrative officer and report to Pernosky.
Amedisys also announced that David Kemmerly, senior VP of government affairs, and Stephen Seim, chief strategy officer, joined the company in March. Kemmerly, 52, comes to Amedisys after serving as special counsel at Adams and Reese law firm, while Seim, 51, most recently worked on Humana's corporate strategy team.
Among those leaving the company are David Bucey, senior VP, general counsel and secretary, and Dr. Michael Fleming, the company's CMO. Bucey will leave on May 11 and Fleming will leave on April 15.
Kemmerly, the new senior VP of government affairs, will also serve as interim general counsel after Bucey's departure. Amedisys says it will launch a national search for a new CMO, but did not disclose any interim plans.
Finally, Bruce Perkins, formerly president of Humana's Healthcare Services segment, will become a member of the Amedisys board of directors. His appointment is effective April 22.
