The National Association of Clinical Nurse Specialists has inducted its latest president and elected a future leader.
Peggy Barksdale, a clinical nurse specialist at the Community Health Network in Indianapolis, was inducted as president of the NACNS board of directors at its annual conference last month.
Barksdale, 63, is also an adjunct faculty member at the Indiana University School of Nursing in Indianapolis. She'll be succeeded by Sharon Horner, who was named president-elect.
Horner, 60, is professor and chair in nursing research at the University of Texas at Austin.
The two were elected to a board of five officers and four directors. NACNS also elected three new members to the committee that reviews nominations for members of the board of directors.
