Sarah Cole has been promoted to CEO of CHAN Healthcare, a risk consulting and internal audit firm.
Cole, 42, is currently senior VP at CHAN. The Clayton, Miss.-based firm is a subsidiary of Crowe Horwath, an accounting and consulting firm where Cole is also a partner.
Starting in April, Cole will lead the faith-based company's 320 professional employees and oversee a client base of over 700 hospitals and healthcare organizations.
When she began at CHAN in 2003, she led the internal audit team at St. Vincent Health, an Indianapolis-based system owned by Ascension Health. She later moved to the St. Louis area to manage all services provided to Ascension, which is CHAN's largest client.
Before coming to CHAN, Cole worked at Ernst & Young. She is the first woman to lead a healthcare-focused risk consulting firm, according to CHAN.
