Michael Malouf has been chosen as president of Anthem's dental insurance business.
Malouf, 54, has replaced Dani Fjelstad, who is now VP of the Indianapolis-based insurance giant's managed dental business, according to a spokeswoman. Malouf started at Anthem in February.
Before joining Anthem, Malouf was president and CEO of Dearborn National Insurance Co., a subsidiary of the Chicago-based Health Care Service Corp. He also served as president and CEO of Willis of Illinois, a Chicago-based insurance consulting firm, and held numerous positions at New York City-based MetLife.
Anthem continues to recover after an unprecedented cyber attack disclosed in February that affected 80 million customers. The company acknowledged last month that its cybersecurity insurance policy may not cover all of the costs associated with the attack, such as credit-monitoring for affected customers and legal fees.
