John Raffoul has been named president and CEO of Los Angeles-based White Memorial Medical Center, a part of Adventist Health. He assumed the role March 1 after having managed day-to-day operations as COO since 2014.
Raffoul said in a news release that he plans to work closely with staff, physicians, patients and community partners “to drive performance improvement, quality outcomes and customer satisfaction.”
In his more than 20 years with the medical center, he has served in various financial capacities, including accountant, senior budget and reimbursement analysts, director of finance, VP of finance and CFO.
According to Adventist Health, Raffoul has managed the automation of payroll and materials management systems, spearheaded the development of the hospital's code of business ethics and oversaw construction of a $190 million hospital complex. He has also served as an adjunct professor at the University of Southern California's Price School of Public Policy since 2004 (see source 4).
Raffoul holds a doctorate in public administration in healthcare from the University of La Verne, an MBA in finance from California State University, San Bernardino, and a bachelor of science in management from Loma Linda University.
