    Evans
    Finance

Richard Evans has been named senior VP, corporate comptroller and principal accounting officer at Accretive Health, a Chicago-based revenue cycle-management company.

Evans, 47, comes to Accretive from KPMG, where he has held several titles over the past 24 years, serving most recently as an audit partner. He joined the company after receiving his undergraduate degree and worked his way up through the ranks in various positions in Columbus, Ohio, Cleveland and Chicago.

Accretive was delisted from the New York Stock Exchange last March for failing to file its 2013 annual report, which just came out in December. The company has gone through significant restructuring to eliminate burdensome costs that led to significant losses in 2012, although the firm reported it was back in the black in 2013.

    Nabel

    Hospitals and Health Systems

Dr. Elizabeth Nabel, president of Brigham and Women's Hospital in Boston and a professor at Harvard Medical School, will serve as the NFL's first chief health and medical adviser, the league announced last week.

Nabel, 62, a cardiologist, has led Brigham and Women's since 2010. She will serve as the league's senior medical expert while continuing her work at the hospital and the medical school, according to the NFL. She will be responsible for providing strategic input into the NFL's medical, health and science efforts, and will work directly with Commissioner Roger Goodell, the league's top official.

As a part of her new role, Nabel will participate as an ex-officio member on each of the NFL's medical advisory committees and help the league identify ways to improve player safety, care and treatment, according to a news release.

    VandenBosch

Darryl VandenBosch has been named president of St. Bernardine Medical Center in San Bernardino, Calif. The hospital is part of Dignity Health. He replaces Steven Barron, who left the post after 15 years to devote more attention to his duties as senior VP of Dignity's six Southern California Hospitals.

VandenBosch, 50, has served as St. Bernardine's CFO since 1999 and has taken on CFO duties for sister hospital Community Hospital of San Bernardino as well. Most recently, he was named VP and CFO of Dignity's Southern California hospitals.

    Physicians

Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, New Brunswick, N.J., has appointed two physicians to leadership positions. Dr. Fredric Wondisford was named professor of medicine and chairman of medicine at the medical school and chief of medicine at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital. Dr. Sally Radovick has been named professor of pediatrics and senior associate dean for clinical and translational research at the medical school.

Both are leaving positions at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in Baltimore. Wondisford served as professor of medicine, pediatrics and physiology and as director of the school's metabolism division. He also was director of the Johns Hopkins Diabetes Institute, leading a multidisciplinary effort among research scientists and physicians to improve quality of care.

Radovick was a professor of pediatrics, director of the division of endocrinology and vice chair for research in the pediatrics department at Johns Hopkins.
