Jesse Jantzen has been appointed president and CEO of Ascension Health Senior Care, a division of St. Louis-based Ascension Health created last year.
Jantzen comes to the Catholic health system from Alameda, Calif.-based Elder Care Alliance, where he has served as president and CEO since 2008. He'll join the company on March 27, replacing Mark Frey, who has served as CEO since the division was launched.
Frey will continue to serve as Illinois market executive for Ascension Health and president and CEO of Arlington Heights, Ill.-based Alexian Brothers Health System, which is owned by Ascension.
Jantzen previously worked in leadership positions at several skilled-nursing facilities and continuing-care retirement committees.
Ascension Health Senior Care is the second-largest not-for profit long-term-care provider in the U.S., according to the company. It provides care for more than 5,500 patients across the country.
